You have just heard about A.I.D.A. and how to use it to create a persuasive message. Here are few tips that bear repeating. To begin:
1. Know your message. If you don’t, other’s won’t!
2. Know your audience.
3. Know your (call to) action.
Begin with Attention, by asking a question or making a statement. Keep either reasonable. Provide some background about you or your cause in the Information part of A.I.D.A. Perhaps a backstory, company details, overall benefits. After that, work at breaking down potential barriers and resistance. In this, the Desire section, try to appeal to your audience so they want to make this their cause. Finally, tell people what Action you want or need them to take. Don’t forget two more things:
1. Make it easy for people to take the action.
2. Say thank you and provide some moving-forward goodwill.
